Welcome Aboard Prof. Demiroglu

I’m pleased to announce that Professor Cenk Demiroglu will be working with us in our neurodegenerative disease research, particularly on Alzheimer’s disease.

Prof. Demiroglu obtained an undergraduate degree degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Bogazici University in 1999 and a PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005. After obtaining his PhD, he played the lead role in the development of a large-vocabulary speech recognition system and the development of an embedded text-to-speech synthesis system.  He then joined Ozyegin University in Istanbul, Turkey in 2009 as an assistant professor.  Currently, Prof. Demiroglu is the director of the speech processing research lab at Ozyegin University.

Prof. Demiroglu’s research and consulting activities are primarily focused in speech recognition, speech synthesis, speaker verification, medical applications of speech signal processing, and computational paralinguistics. His latest research is focused on Alzheimer’s and depression detection using speech and linguistic features.
